Here's where I've moved the cheese. There were a number of reasons why I decided to move to this "virtual utopia".
- I still remember when I first told Tarun about my blog address, he taunted me by asking if I could have thought of a longer address. This one is certainly easier to remember.
- Me & my old blog were suffering in SEO rankings. Not that it's Telligent's fault. Community Server is a great piece of software, but I wanted to try something new this time. I remember Scott Hanselman tried to make me switch over to dasBlog about 3 years ago. But it was BlogEngine.net that caught my attention.
- I wanted to restart blogging regularly with more determination & commitment.
- And on a lighter note; Batman was single, while I got married. I no longer see that alter ego in me. Perhaps I strive to be more like my real life heroes.

It's been more than 3 months that I've written anything on my blog. Not to mention that blogging has overall seen a trend of moving towards a niche, trust me it’s a good thing! But then again you don’t need me to tell you that, you can form your own opinion. Before I start digressing into matters that are completely out of the context, let me state the big 2 reasons why I have not blogged in such a long time. One is professional & the other is personal. For those of you who don’t know, I am working with a startup which, like every other startups is driven by challenging environment, tighter deadlines and long work hours. This however doesn’t leave much room for you to do anything else. And not that I don’t like it, it is the spirit of a proving yourself is what draws me romantically towards working for isango!
And speaking of romanticism, the other (personal) reason is that I’m getting married on the 11th of October, 2008. Yes, this Saturday!
I’ve known Monica for almost a year now, and I thank my parents (my Dad, in particular) for introducing us to each other. This semi-arranged marriage is going to take place at 2pm at Sacred Heart Cathedral, New Delhi.
Well, now you know!!!

"I'm starting to think of Reflection much the way I think about Regular Expressions. If you have to solve your Problem with Reflection, you may just end up with Problems, plural!" - Scott Hanselman
I figured waiting to publish something unique/rare/useful would take too long. So here's the first post in 2 months of hiatus.

The Dark Knight Perspective, is an outlook towards the world, a Vista I'm sharing with the world. Rather than pulling you; the reader into my realm, it eventually happened (90 posts and 2 years later) that I decided to share my perspective of the world with you.
It is like Agent Smith finding his purpose, or Fox Mulder getting reinvested into the the X-Files, yeah yeah; I know both of them appear to be a lost cause. One - a super slow talking virtual entity and another is a guy whose purpose seems to have been diluted in a world that's filled with more pressing issues today. But from my perspective here is someone who is over zealous to finding his purpose in life and the other willing to give up everything for a cause he believed in.
And I haven't changed who I am. It's still the same old guy who is... for the lack of a better term - "Dark Knight Obsessed". It is this medium through which I share my thoughts & opinions has evolved into a more mature form. In case you're curious there were a lot of reasons that drove this change. But it was the guy I idolize who triggered it. Hope you like this new avatar.

"You've been a busy little bat, haven't you?" - Superman from Justice League/Cartoon Network - A Better World. Yes I've been and I think it's easy to say I'd continue to be for a couple of months more.
And if it wasn't for such a great work by the guys at Telligent I wouldn't have upgraded to Community Server 2007. And it is because of the upgrade I'm doing a customary post. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be posting on my blog the next couple of months, I'm more of a "in the moment" writer anyways, so they'll be as unpredictable as earthquakes.
And to make the long story short... I'm working on the last project with my present employer. So I'm closing in on achieving the number 1 item on my resolutions' list for this year.

OK So it took 2 days rather than 2 hours for me to upgrade. Ran into some serious issues during the upgrade. Mainly because of Dan Bartel's Google SiteMap Plugin I had recently installed. And perhaps I may have to revert back to the default Community Server theme for some time. But this blog theme (now available by default in CS2.1) by Jaxon Rice simply rocks.

Community Server's finally done it. The del.icio.us inspired Tag clouds - considered the most hip thing in a blog service these days is now available on Community Server. So I'm going to perform the upgrade later today which means downtime of about a couple of hours. And I might also switch back to the default theme for sometime.
See you in CS 2.1

Taking inspiration from the awesome works of Jaxon Rice & Ben Tiedt. I've finally decided to re-design my website.
I take immense pride in my work as it has been done in just 1 day. Of course it's modeled around the same look and feel of my design from the old Community Server 1.1 days. Therefore the work on the graphics was minimized. But instead of using a popular template like everybody else, it reflects not only ingenuity but stands out among the others.

Ahh! So I've made an incredibly smooth transition, that is I've upgraded my site to run on Community Server 2.0 under ASP.net 2.0. The most obvious change you've already noticed is the default CS 2.0 theme, which I like by the way. Though it lacks any of my trademark "Dark Knight" looks. I'm going to keep it for a while until I build myself a theme which is compatible with the new version. Among the huge number of improvements and new features the one I've started to adore and will start using on a large scale is the Photo Gallery, which wasn't that great on the previous version IMHO, hence I never used it.
Kudos to the Community Server team at Telligent for making a hugely impressive build. Although it provides "minimal" (these are the words used by folks at Telligent) Content Editing functionality, the work they've done with AJAX in this build, I think is by far the coolest thing in this version.

My yesterday's posting prompted my dear friend Raj Shekhar to lend his precious comments. It was then he noticed that I didn't had Anonymous posts allowed on my blog. And when he told me about it on MSN I thought that it was probably that the default setting was blocking anonymous postings.
Funny thing I spent more than an hour and couldn't find a solution. So I turned to the forums at Community Server, unfortunately I couldn't find anything that helped. Finally I was able to find this post by Sohaib Athar which solved the problem for me. I think I'm gonna make a post into the CS forums for people who are also facing this problem.
